Half Genie Hero

Reports of the Wii U's death were premature, albeit not by much.  Shantae: Half Genie Hero was released about a week ago and I positively LOVE it.  There is no question that Wayforward positively schooled Inafune on how to do a proper Kickstarted side-scrolling action game.  As far as I am concerned, Half Genie Hero is the best Wii U game of 2016 (granted, that's not saying as much as I wish it was; its main competition was Tokyo Mirage Sessions).

There are a few goodies planned for future DLC (Risky Boots playable, costumes and weapons), but the core package is outstanding as-is.  I was one of those people who sincerely wondered if another "transforming genie dancing" game could compete with the pirate gear of Shantae and the Pirate's Curse.  Rest assured, they pulled it off.
